"Dinner & A Movie" night was on 6/29! We met at 5:30pm for Chick-Fil-A dinner, waked over to to the Dollar store for snacks, and then over to Regency 6 for Zootopia at 7:00pm. The cost was $10 which covered everything (Food, $3.50 movie, and snacks). The movie was over at 9:20pm. Thanks for coming! There's no better way to build relationships than eating together and watching a fun movie (haha)! Check out this great quote from the movie that may apply to your Christian life! Judy Hopps: Life's a little bit messy. We all make mistakes. No matter what type of animal you are, change starts with you.
SUMMER CAMP AT PONDO WAS AMAZING! WE ARE SO GRATEFUL TO EVERYONE WHO SPONSORED STUDENTS! THANKS TO ALL THE PARENTS WHO ALLOWED YOUR SON/DAUGHTER TO EXPERIENCE LIFE WITH US. Wednesday 6/15 our 2016 VBS Games Crew headed over to Palermo's Pizzeria at 1751 East Main Street. They brought $5-$10 for lunch and we got back to the church at 2:00pm. Everyone was reminded to bring a signed consent form if they hadn't filled one out. We appreciate all your help with the kids at VBS this year! We couldn't have done it without you. Thanks for being silly and fun leaders. You made every day an exciting MYSTERY!!! Check out a few photos below!
I can't believe this was our 5th annual SHIFT: this year's current freshmen welcome in our next freshmen crew! In order to purchase tickets and secure transportation, students provided confirmation of attendance by 9PM Wednesday 8. Sign-ups were made available along with consent forms.
All the students ate breakfast before they arrived at the church and were responsible for meals - lunch, dinner and snacks. Other than that, the the tickets to Magic Mountain were on us!
We had a blast together at Magic Mountain! The weather was perfect and the crowd was low making it quicker for us to get on the rides. And ride we did! After leaving the park, we had a late dinner at In-N-Out back in Ventura and headed over to Century 10 Downtown and watched, Now You See Me 2. It was such a rad day! We're so glad to have all of you join the High School group. We hope you have a great freshmen year!

We had such a great time at our .COM (Community Outreach Event) on Saturday 5/14! We partnered with EPIC and assisted with some of these fun activities: a bounce house, a snow cone stand, and a popcorn stand. There will also be a taco truck, music, and a time to honor some of the founders of Cabrillo Village, and MORE! It was so rad connecting with the amazing young people and families of Cabrillo Village. A big "Thank You" to everyone who shared the love of Christ with this community. You were truly an extension of Jesus' hands and feet by serving in simple and practical ways! We invite you to see the new mural in the Salon/Community Center at Cabrillo Village and experience it for yourself!
If you've been to Midweek 8/26/15 thru 4/20/16, you have gone through the entire Bible with us - Genesis to Revelation! Congratulations!!! Thanks for celebrating the completion of The Story with us on Wednesday 4/27! We turned out the lights and lit the fire pit at the Barnard House. Our time of worship together felt like a private retreat and the games, snacks and S'mores made it extra special. Thanks for bringing friends and for being so faithful to God's word.
Do you love Italian food? Mama Scallarini says, "Treat mama well ALL weekend!" Start Mothers' Day on Friday May 6th, and Saturday May 7th from 5:30-7:30pm in Fellowship Hall for Mama Scallarini's. Enjoy an Italian meal, meet our student waiters and waitresses, listen to live music, and soak up the ambience of a candlelit room. The cost is $10 per person, and $5 per child (childcare provided). This fundraiser aims to provide scholarships for students to attend camps, retreats and events that they wouldn't otherwise be able to afford. We hope to see you there!

"I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful" (Psalm 139:14). We are so thankful for the opportunity to go to Winter Camp 2016 at Pondo. Lives were transformed and 4 of our students made new commitments to Christ! Many memories were made that will last a lifetime. Thank you to all our sponsors who made it possible for some of our students to go.
Saturday 20, seven of our students and two of our leaders partnered with Gerardo Gallegos and Restore Ventura at 572 N. Ventura Avenue to continue working on the Community Garden. It's been a joy to see how God has transformed an empty run down lot and turned it into a refuge for the community with healthy vegetation and growing fruit. We were happy to be the hands and feet of Christ as we continue to plant "seeds of hope" for the lost that God may bring forth fruit. Thanks everyone for helping us with this amazing restoration project!
We invite all High School students to join us for "The Gathering" this Friday night. Drop off and pick-up will be at Palermo's. The event is from 7;00-9:00pm. There is no real agenda other than providing an opportunity to hang out with other High School students. We plan on grabbing something to eat on Main street followed by coffee at Palermo's, so bring some money. We hope you will gather with your friends for a time of laughter, food, and fun!
Join us at Paintball USA Saturday 2/6 for some epic paintball battles. The cost is $35 and includes mask, gun and ammo! We'll also provided pizza for a lunch break! Even if you have never tried paint-balling before, you'll have a blast! Wear a long sleeve shirt/jacket, long pants (preferably jeans), and shoes. Gloves are optional. We'll see you at 5011 W. Gonzales Road from 9am - 1pm! Don't miss it!
This Saturday we will be heading to 572 N. Ventura Avenue (weather permitting) to partner with Restore Ventura makeover a Community Garden. We will work from 9:00am - 12:00pm. Let's be the hands and feet of Christ as we reach our community in love through practical ways. See you there!

There's no better way for us to start our 242 Midweek meetings than praising God and praying for His favor for the future! This is going to be a great time to reflect on the past year and seek God about your hopes and dreams for 2016. Come hear special music from some of our students as they share their God-given gifts. We're believing God for a great year! We hope to see you there!
